This session will explore opportunities and barriers to communicating climate change in Australia from five different perspectives. David Holmes will look at the impediments and opportunities presented by mainstram media. Ailie Gallant will discuss the obstacles in the way of scientists getting media coverage of their work. Ben Domensino will discuss initiatives within Weatherzone to cover climate and climate change. Karen Pearce will discuss the strategies needed to communicate climate change to regional, business and government stakeholders. Mike Schaefer will report on his research on the the use of imagery in climate change communication and issue-attention drivers of climate change coverage in Australia and elsewhere.
