RV Investigator, Australia’s bluewater research capability: how to get your research on board
Thursday 13 June – 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Investigator is a purpose built research vessel, designed and engineered to carry out an array of highly sophisticated scientific activities and possess capabilities far beyond those of previous Australian research vessels. Technically impressive and with an enviable suite of equipment, the ship has already proved a game-changer for marine research in Australia. The recent increased funding to support full-year operation of Investigator has resulted in greater opportunities for the marine and atmospheric research community to utilise this national facility. Opportunities for granted voyages include primary applications, supplementary applications, and piggyback projects and are assessed by an independent panel and scientific committee against specific criteria. This workshop will provide the opportunity to learn about the applications and assessment processes, hear from committee and panel members about what makes a high quality application, share examples of successful proposals, and provide the opportunity for questions from the research community.
